Certificate IV in Kinesiology (HLT42807):

The Basic Kinesiology Program Structure

This unique, specialised program will provide you with a solid foundation in Kinesiology with which you can begin a new career as a successful Kinesiology Practitioner.

The Certificate IV in Kinesiology (HLT42807) and the Diploma in Kinesiology (HLT51507) are each highly sought after qualifications in the complementary health field. The course units are designed to be fun, easy and progressively add to your skills.

The central section of the chart represents the 10 units of the Certificate IV Kinesiology (Basic Kinesiology Program or BKP), which is Nationally Accredited Training and Internationally Accredited wherever Kinesiology is being practised.

Each unit comprises 15 hours class time every 3 to 4 weeks, with some homework to complete.

About half of this you do in the classroom with the teacher  and the remainder you complete by working with class-mates, friends who become willing volunteers, and on the ICPKP website where you can compare notes with other students working on the same units. (Some of these will be in countries overseas).

Kinesiology Schools Australia provides Recognition of Current Competency (previously known as Recognition of Prior Learning [RPL ... click] ).

ICPKP also provides Recognition for Prior Learning (RPL) for those that previously studied PKP in the old format. You can cross-credit prior learning towards Diploma Status.

as the first step
Certificate IV in Kinesiology
(BKP).

The next Steps:
Each wedge of the chart represents a subject that you study once you complete the basics
. For example ECO represents the Personal Ecology side of life or the way we interface with our environment. EMS represents the emotional and spiritual issues that we explore. It is one of the larger areas of study.

Building your practice
Our training encourages you to earn as you learn. As a student of KC you are encouraged to work with a number of willing volunteers on whom to practice the techniques that you learn. After you have completed the intermediate part of the program, the Certificate IV in Kinesiology component (BKP110), you then have 300 hours of study behind you and may *charge a reasonable fee for your work. By the time you complete the 2.5 year Diploma in Program you should be well on your way to having a profitable Kinesiology business of your own.

*This earn as you learn method not only helps cover the course fees but allows you to gradually build up your own practice. The more effort you make as a student to do the home component of the course the sooner you will earn the income you desire. Your volunteers and the people they refer to you become the base for your own business. With the college's direction and guidance, we expect you to make enough effort to become self supporting within the time-frame of the course.

Certificate IV in Kinesiology (BKP) will provide you with a solid foundation in Kinesiology. The workshops are designed to be fun, easy and progressively add to your skills. Anybody can take BKP. Mums, dads, students looking for a career or mature folk looking for an escape from the 9 - 5 grind to business of your own. Anyone with a high school education and a willingness to learn, explore and grow can take BKP. Also, pursuing a professional career in the field - via BKP - is both satisfying and rewarding.
